Merridale's Special Star

The seven moons of Imaginaria looked down upon Princess Merridale of the Meadows. The stars in the midnight sky twinkled as if to say, "Look at me—I'll guide you on your journey." One star though, sparkled just a bit more brilliantly than the rest, and seemed to invite Merridale to draw nearer.

As she followed the lovely light, Merri found herself in Melody Meadow, where she gazed at the beckoning star. She looked upward, then closed her eyes and saw the star even better than she had before. Curiously, as Merri became as silent as the shadows, she imagined she could hear the soft buzzing of a bee ... wait ... she was really hearing it—but not from outside; no, Merri could hear the beautiful buzzing from deep inside, tickling her toes, then moving up and up.

Soon the sound of a far-away flute reached in and made Merri's tummy tingle—calling her even closer to the still distant star.

The glittery glissando of a host of harps rippled like a soft breeze, filling Merridale's heart with joy. She was getting closer to the pinpoint of light, but knew she mustn't hurry. "All good things come to those who wait patiently," whispered the voice of the singerwing on the wind.

The melodious tinkle of delicate bells added a sweet sound to the chorus, and Merridale knew that this was going to be a very special night. She could sense that every creature in the meadow had hushed ... waiting for Merridale to reach her special star.

Merri became even more still and quiet. When she heard the unexpected fanfare of majestic trumpets, it filled her with a sweetness she had never felt before. The sound seemed to come from everywhere inside—triumphantly calling to Merri—who was peaceful and ready to hear the heavenly sounds.

Just when Merridale thought she would burst with delight, a whoosh and a cool, crisp tingle flew up her spine. As her heart overflowed, all the sounds seemed to become one, and with a roar filled every part of her body, mind and soul. It was as if she was part of a vast and noble ocean, rolling and rumbling throughout a universe of radiant golds, glimmering blues and dazzling whites.

The light from the star became so bright that night became day. The divine music wound its way above, below and through every part of the meadow. Merridale's heart filled to the brim with joy, and she not only heard the celestial chorus, but saw the beautiful beings who brought the symphony to her. As they floated above Merridale, she stepped forward into the center of the light and flew away with the angels to visit her special star.
