For the Shameless Plug,
Meet Gael MacGregor
And See Where She's
Gonna Be Singing!

A lot of y'all in La-La Land (that's Los Angeles, California) have been asking... "Okay, RED ... Where the heck are you singing?"

Well... my Southern Soul project is still crawling along—keep your fongfers crossed that the rest of the money for the completion of the CD finds me before I have to be wheeled onto the stage, and my face lifted off the floor... Shows supporting that are currently in limbo until the last three (of ten) songs are completed (almost there—just some horns and mixing!). My producer, Barry Coffing, swears that final mix, mastering & pressing will be this year. E-mail Barry if you're as impatient as I am! In the meantime, move your mousie to the musical notes to the excerpts for your listening pleasure (HAVE PATIENCE WHILE EACH .WAV LOADS ... THEY CAN TAKE A L'IL BIT):

               "You Ain't Too Tough"

"Drift Away" (Remake of Dobie Grey's Tune)

               "One Love Too Late"

               "We're Hot Tonight"

The CELTIC music is kind of a catch-as-catch-can kinda thing... We do Scottish sing-alongs from time to time at Rosemary Davis' SCOTTISH IMPORTS in Covina, California. An assortment of singers & instrumentalists join in on the fun—usually with more than one or two bagpipe players causing trouble as is their wont—and all are invited to warble along and have a "wee doch and doris." (If'n ye non-Scots want to know what that means, you'll hafta show up. *HEE HEE*). But do call Rosemary for all your Celtic needs (626-974-9277). If she doesn't have what you want, she will undoubtedly steer you to someone who will.

To finally answer the question:

Currently, I've been doing the back-up shtick for my friend, singer/songwriter/pianist, JULIE CHADWICK (you'll also hear her doing backup on my CD when it's finally released). She and I have been doing studio work and singing on-stage together for years, and it's been fun to get back to working live with her. The last show at Luna Park was a rousing success, and we're all looking forward to the next one. Will keep you posted. If you like Vonda Shepherd and/or Torie Amos, you'll LOVE Julie. While distinctly her own talented self, Julie sort of fits into a similar genre of music. Although she has neither a computer nor a web page, here's JULIE's little adjunct at MacMusic Magic.

Lately, however, most of my on-stage time has been singing backup for TORIE TYSON's shows. I also sang backup on one of the songs for her CD—a fun remake of "Fox on the Run" (I came into the picture after most of the CD had been completed). Her CD, You're Gonna Get It In The End, is available NOW! To order, call Torie's HOTLINE at 213-960-5290 for information. For more about TORIE and her music, move your mouse over here for The Torie Tyson Experience. There WILL be Torie .wav files on this site. Oh yeah, and by the way... When you read G-Man's REVIEW of the show we did at The Rock, do notice that yours truly, Gael MacGregor, *ahem* is mentioned in a highly complimentary fashion. ;)

If you want to be informed by e-mail about shows, etc., just e-mail me and let me know... Otherwise, come on back for the  news and concert info— dates are added frequently, so check back soon!
