The ancient forest…
The way it must have been…
A great, wide spot with glades no one could see;
Places that once were known,
But have long since been forgotten.
A place so old; Lost in
Time and tangled, wild roses.
Old Man of the Forest
Sings songs we once did know.
Old Man of the Forest
Tells tales of brave knights,
And dragons in flight,
Of love and life long ago.
Old Man of the Forest…
I tried to write the tales
As he told them all to me,
But remembered only fragments;
Poetry seemed to flee.
The Princess sang them to her child
As perfect as could be;
So many years since the time
He sat in the glen with me.
Old Man of the Forest
Sings songs we once did know.
Old Man of the Forest
Tells tales of brave knights,
And dragons in flight,
Of love and life long ago.
Old Man of the Forest…
On summer's wind, mourning doves cry,
"Where's the magic forest we once knew?"
Bluebirds whisper stories lost to
All but those who listen to the
Old Man of the Forest
Sings songs we once did know.
Old Man of the Forest
Tells tales of brave knights,
And dragons in flight,
Of love and life long ago.
Old Man of the Forest…
