Take
© 1982 BY: Gael MacGregor

Once I had three wishes from a magic man;
I could have the riches from any far-off land.
I told him that I wanted nothing more than you.
He laughed and said,
"That's just one wish.
See what I can do."

There it was before me—more gold I've never seen;
But without you by my side, how much could it all mean?
I stood inside a castle, and pearls spilled from my hands.
He laughed and said,
"What's your first wish?
I am at your command."

"Take me back-send me away—
Bring me home—There I will stay.
Keep your gold and your jewels you speak of,
And take me back to the one that I love."

There we were so quickly; It all went by so fast.
I asked him for a wish: His promise that our love would last.
"Riches I can freely give," he said,
"But love that won't grow old
Comes only from the warmest hearts,
And yours will never feel the cold."

"Take me back-send me away—
Bring me home—There I will stay.
Keep your gold and your jewels you speak of,
And take me back to the one that I love."
