At least we will be soon! The idea is to hook up with other classooms and question-answering resources world-wide to collaborate and be cyber-social.
To cut the hype from our prose - a lot of the value of going on line is crossing barriers of distance with this new, powerful form of communication. Compared to the telephone, it's practically free!
Teachers especially should consider if they would like their classes to reach out to people from other cultures, or to people who work in an industry related to the curriculum. If so...tell us your ideas. We'll be happy to search out participants and help moderate the communication. (Note: We are not really referring to chat here so much as e-mail and collateral web-posting.)
There are already many exciting forums and websites dedicated to this activity. We'll be searching them out and joining some of them in the weeks ahead.
